Recommended Replacement: Genmega G2500 Model

The Hantle 1700W (formerly Tranax 1700W) was a popular free-standing retail ATM known for its affordability and dependability. For years, it was widely deployed in convenience stores, salons, bars, and other high-traffic locations. Today, however, Hantle is out of business, and, while the 1700W is discontinued and non-compliant as originally manufactured with current U.S. network and security standards, some are still out there processing after being upgraded. While the manufacturer no longer offers parts, software updates, or support, many parts for the Genmega G2500 are compatible with the older Hantle 1700W. Major components such as the cash dispenser, keypad, and power supply are compatible. The compatibility exists because both brands have a shared history and design heritage.
  • Recommended Replacements for the Hantle 1700W

If you’re replacing a 1700W, you have two excellent options depending on your budget:
    • Genmega G2500 – The closest modern free-standing replacement. Fully EMV & PCI compliant, customizable, and backed by ongoing manufacturer support.
    • Triton Certified Pre-Owned Units (Traverse or RL5000, when available) – A cost-effective option for operators who want a proven U.S.-made ATM at a lower price point. Availability is limited, so please contact us by phone or through the inquiry form to check current stock.
Upgrading to either option ensures your ATM location remains compliant, secure, and profitable.
  • Here’s a list of Interchangeable parts between the Genmega G2500 and the Hantle 1700w

    • Cash dispensers: The dispenser units are interchangeable between the two ATMs.
    • Keypads: PCI-compliant keypads are compatible with both the Genmega and Hantle models.
    • Power supplies: The power supply units are generally interchangeable.
    • Card readers: EMV-upgrade kits are often cross-compatible between models.
    • Printers: The receipt printer assemblies for the G2500 can be used in a 1700w.
    • Mainboards: The original 1700W ACU 3 and 5 boards are noncompliant. Require an update and an ACU 6 or ACU 7 mainboard from the G2500 to update firmware and software for 1700w.
  • Non-interchangeable parts

    • LCD screens: The 1700W has a 7-inch screen, the G2500 has an 8-inch screen.
    • Cabinet and toppers.  Neither cabinet or toppers are compatible.
Important considerationCompliance and security: To reiterate. The Hantle 1700w is discontinued and obsolete. It is no longer compliant with modern EMV and PCI security standards. While you can use some G2500 parts for repair, it may not make the older machine compliant. Attempting to run a non-compliant ATM is a liability and is against network regulations. It is recommended to replace the entire 1700w with a compliant modern machine like the G2500 instead of attempting to repair it.
